To make quality education and healthcare more accessible to local residents .
Cambodia has an inadequate and unevenly distributed healthcare workforce. With only 1.4 health workers per 1000 people, it falls below WHO critical shortage threshold 0f 4.5 per 1000. 75% of people live in rural areas, while 50% of physicians and 75% of specialists work in Phnom Penh. Infant mortality rate in rural areas three-fold higher than urban centers.
Shortage of rural Siem Reap schools means that many students have to walk miles a day just to go to school. Most Cambodian villages have a primary school, but less than 10% of villages have access to secondary education.
